Hey guys, I wanted to show you what I bought over the weekend. When I was a kid I had a pretty extensive Hotwheels collection, unfortunately over the years I've lost them or given them away, but I've never lost the love for them as I grew into an adult. Since I was a kid, though, the tiny cars have gone from about a dollar each to way more than I want to spend on a tiny car. So you can imagine my excitment when I saw these little gems in the bargin bin at Walmart for just over the price I paid for them "back in the day"!
In this video I discuss everything I enjoy about Hotwheels and go over which set each car comes from and what they may include. I decided not to open the Batmobile and the Snoopy cars since I'd really like to keep them around for a while, and if I remove them from the packaging I will 100% lose them or destroy them in some way! I was a kid of the 80's and a teenager of the 90's when the very first Tim Burton Batman was released, so finding a version of the Batmobile from those 90's movies is kind of neat (even if it is the Batman Forever movie). Snoopy and The Peanuts gang are probably some of my early comic and cartoon influences and I always loved that iconic dog house and the way Charles Shultz portrayed it in unconventional ways in the cartoons. Snoopy fantasized about being a World War One flying ace atop his dog house so zooming down the road in this cool roadster wouldn't be much of a stretch!
Finally we wrap everything up with this sweet (see what I did there?) Roller Toaster, complete with pop-up toast..sort of. I bought this car because I liked the overall design with the cord off the side and the toaster knobs up front in place of headlights. When I discovered it had a special feature that sweetened the deal even more! Unfortunately the special feature wasn't all that special and came off a bit lame, but it's still fun to look at, even though Mattel could have put just a bit more effort into it and made the toast pop out of the car or something to make it more exciting. Overall, though, for just over a dollar each these cars are a good buy and - most likely - I'll be back for more to show you guys soon enough.
